Summary of “A horse and two goats”

In ”A Horse And Two Goats,” Muni, an old peasant who has lost everything but his goats, tethers them to the trunk of a ”drumstick tree that grew in front of his hut and from which occasionally Muni could shake down drumsticks. This morning he got six. He carried them in with a sense of triumph. Although no one could say precisely who owned the tree, it was his because he lived in its shadow.” In the morning of the day covered in the story, before Muni meets the red-faced American who will apparently change their fortunes, his wife scolds him: ” ‘You are getting no sauce today, nor anything else. I can’t find anything to give you to eat. Fast till the evening, it’ll do you good. Take the goats and be gone now,’ she cried, and added, ‘Don’t come back before the sun is down.’ Perhaps a large progeny would have brought him the blessing of the gods.” But the American passing through their village mistakes the statue of a horse on the outskirts for Muni’s property and buys it for 100 rupees. Muni returns with the money to his incredulous wife, believing he has sold his goats to the foreigner. They turn up bleating at his door, and the old woman to whom he has been married since they were both children some 60 years earlier threatens to go off to her parents.

First I want to give some critics about that exhibition, because I thought the exhibition should present “Art”… and I can’t understand why those pictures, shown in the Deichtorhallen, belong to the genre “Art”. The name of the exhibition showed us that there is a high contrast between the “normal” thought of “beauty” and the real life. Many pictures represented a very fanciful image of the American life especially in New York. I must admit that I had another view of that exhibition: the whole layout of the exhibition was that neutral, nothing new came into our minds.

But some pictures I also liked:

First of all the pictures taken by Nan Goldin, showing a woman, who was raped or something like that. Her right eye was a black eye, which stands for the violence in this picture, very sad that there are still such cases all over the world and in the best families. Another picture of Nan Goldin was the “The Ballad of Sexual Dependency”, which showed us that often there is a missing communication between people, especially between men and women. I think in such a big city like New York every individual gets lost. Nobody is interested in what you’re doing, or in what’s the matter with someone. Also in former times the “romantics” had the fear of being developed in this way – as you can see: they are right, still nowadays.

In conclusion I can say that I liked the exhibition and the way the groups presented their compositions. I hope this will give us enough food of thoughts for our “klausur” we’ll take on Tuesday.

I would like to say that I had forgotten my wordpress password, therefore I wrote it in MSWord.. as I had finished my writing I copied it. As I noticed that I have forgotten my password I copied my new password, which was sent to me via mail. So my finished review was lost.

Now I try to rebuild my writing as good as I can. The length of the text is not that long like the old

I like the Novel Moon Palace by Paul Auster. It gives you a real good view on a guy who is ja little bit crazy, because of his minds, which are not that easy to understand. The story starts with the name of the protagonist: Marco Stanley Fogg and his other names.. the names he got upset with. It’s very clear to understand that he did’nt like that. Further he lived in a nice apartment, but he got lost because of laziness. So he got an poor guy living in the Central Park, eating out of garbage cans. He nearly died. With the power of his friends he got on the right way. Later on he worked for an handicapped person called Effing. I think the whole story shows a really good development which is comprehensable

Dear Diary

Guess what has happend to me today . I met Marco! Yeah, that Marco I from whom I told you. I was just walking threw Central Park as I saw him sitting on a bench and writing. I wasn’t quite sure whether I should talk to him, but I put on my sunglasses and my red lipstick to strengthen my ego. I adressed him as Mr. Writer, because I didn’t want to scare him off. I think it was a good decision to start our conversation in that way. Ohhh, dear Diary I’m so happy! He looked so good and remarkable – he’s my dreamboy even when he owns some mysterious traits. I really like him. Our conversation was that good as an conversation between my mother and me. Normally you have to look for a very long time to find someone who can discuss as quarter as good with you. It was better to talk to him as talking to you my diary. Well, you know I’m just kidding ! Our conversation went on and I decided to take the seat next to him. Suddenly I felt an enormous heat coming up in my body, but I dissembled it. Nevertheless after a few minutes I became cold in my dancing clothes.. wait! Isn’t it possible that the heat was the reason of my dancing lesson? Well, I don’t take care off it. It is certain that I went with Marco to Zimmer’s apartment to drink some coffee. So you’re asking what has happened there? I decided to go into a offensive way. First I sat down on the bed, but as I noticed that the breaks between our exchange of words became longer I stood up and touched him from behind on his waist. He returns my behaviour and took my hands. It was so wonderful. A few minutes later we landed in bed having sex. I think it was great for Marco. He enjoyed it as I enjoyed it. I felt it. It was a memorial day for both of us. We spent the whole afternoon and quite a bit of the evening in bed. We laid there tight entwined. I think I know that I belong to him. That I noticed in the following days we met each other. He is the best partner I ever had, not in bed but in generell for example talking, having fun, making jokes of each other. The only thing which is annoying me is he fact of his inner world. I can’t look threw him, I can’t see what’s going on inside of him sometimes. Sometimes I’m going crazy because he seems to be asleep at the wheel, but in general I’m feeling happy with him beside me. I can promise: you can have a lot of fun with him, not only at home, if you understand what I mean.

I will tell you about Macro again, but not yet , because Marco will come in every second.

Hey folks !

First of all I would like to say: I liked every presentation !

I’ll comment on our own presentation, because the lyric tells you so much we could’nt present to you

Eminem tells you about the American Dream, which also says that every vote and every voice of the American nation is represented in the Flag (Stars and Stripes) and especially in the person of Mr. Bush! He critizises the whole democracy the US is proud of. For Eminem the “Dream” is a graceless exploitation of the American Patriotism within the justification of the war (e.g.) in Iraq, which has nothing to do with the main idea of the Dream. In his point of view lies should not exist, if you want to keep the AD real.
